The wine region

Lying between the Côte de Beaune and the Mâconnais, the wine region of the Côte Chalonnaise begins in Chagny. The route des vins (wine route) passes through Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey, Givry and Buxy. And should the rows of vines in the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune almost give you vertigo, you’ll be pleased to know that here, your eyes pass from vineyard to forest, from village to fields. Fields and thickets mix harmoniously with the vines... This region’s wine culture goes back a long way, yet the Côte Chalonnaise wines haven’t attained the higher prices of the grands crus produced further north. This only serves to make the enjoyment of the wine a far more leisurely affair, accompanied by local produce such charolais beef and fish from local rivers. The region’s inhabitants know how to welcome their guests, true to their reputation of being warm and uncomplicated. Your stay here will be full of discoveries, leisurely walks and culinary highlights...
